A deep dive into the realm of the subconscious mind of filmmaker, Ling Ang’s, lucid journeys through her dreams. Documented across three years, this is her first photo book, Souvenirs of Sleep.

Through the use of translucent vellum stock for the photography, we aimed to create a dream like effect with the corresponding copy showing through in the negative spaces underneath. Some dreams’ essence was visualised through manipulation.

The typeface is mono-spaced, chosen for the way it sits sparsely on the page and is reminiscent of fonts used for coding – in this instance a glimpse into the brain’s subconscious. The book is printed on recycled stock, section sewn with a linen hard cover.
