Outer Urban Projects is a bold performing arts company that creates new forms of contemporary performance imagined from the life experiences of young emerging artists from the outer northern suburbs.

I was initially commissioned by OUP to create a new identity which would have a professional feel, yet still captured notions of the outer urban sprawl.

I drew inspiration from old subway signage and train maps to visually represent OUP through thick line-work and, an arrow to signify the northern suburbs. The cascading type was positioned so as to signify progress. A vibrant colour palette would speak to their creativity and cultural diversity and served as a way to bring consistency and impact using candid images captured on phones by staff.

Each new show would adopt it’s own visual identity whilst adhering to OUPs styleguide.
